I love when my couples trust me with a location for their photo shoot. These guys had never heard of The Spiral Jetty, and had never seen it, but they trusted that I knew what would look good, and I’m so glad they did, the photos and the whole session came out stunningly! I love these two, working with them is a dream. They are open to all my crazy ideas, and have no problem being fun and sweet together. They are such good kind people, and I felt so lucky to be their photographer!
This is my sweet beautiful niece. These two have been sweethearts for a LONG LONG time! Chelisa and Ben dated through high school and fell pretty hard for each other. They were best friends. He served a two year mission, then she served a one and a half year service mission, so the waiting to be together felt like a long time for them both. I am so happy they are together now, and I can’t wait to share their wedding photos! Congratulations you two!!
Heather and Tyler are perfect together. Their souls match one another. They are both very kind, considerate, playful, flirty, and passionate with each other. For Heather, waiting for Tyler to come into her life wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it. When you wait for something you desire for so long finally comes your world finally feels whole. The love between these two was outstanding and they clearly complete each other. He was tender and loving with her and she brought out their playful side. Watching their love behind my lens was such a beautiful experience and I’m glad I was able to photograph it.
Loved every moment with these two beautiful humans! They are so wonderful inside and outside - kind, loving, fun. I loved every shoot we got to have together!
How have I not shared this session yet!! I plastered it all over my instagram so I think I thought I’d already done a blog post on it. It was such an awesome session! I have so much fun with this couple, they feel like instant friends. Easy to be around, easy to laugh with. I fell in love with her dress and the movement from it! So dang beautiful!
What a beautiful love these two have. They are so kind and gentle together, fun, funny, full of love for everyone around them. It was such a privilege to have the chance to photograph them for their engagement session and bridals. We had such a fun time together! Congratulations you two! Can’t wait to share your bridal session!
I’ve been so far behind on my blogging. It got to busy season, and every spare moment I’ve spent with family, soaking up what little time we have with those we love. When you are losing someone you love, priorities really change. But I’ve photographed some wonderful beautiful couples this year, and I don’t want to not share them, so better late then never!
Lacee and Samuel met on Mutual (an online dating app) and after doing this shoot its super easy to see that the feelings are DEFINITELY mutual! :) They had their first date at Firehouse Pizza, and Lacee said she knew he was a good one when she choked on her pasta and he still liked her after that! They are such a cute couple and naturals in front of the camera! He was so sweet and romantic with her and she had no problem flirting back with him and just being super fun. They were even adventurous enough to get in the water and splash around at the end of the shoot! Happy wedding day you two!! So excited for you and all the great adventures that await!
The sweetest part of the wedding is when they played “Somewhere over the rainbow” during the first dances, for Dani’s brother who passed away, and Nicks uncle who also passed away that year. There was such a tender feeling in the room. What a beautiful day it was.
Absolutely loved this shoot and how stunning the bride looked with her beautiful flower crown! Did you know that in some countries flowers are thought to be a symbol of love, good luck, and prosperity? Some cultures even believe that when a bride wears flowers in her hair she will be blessed with happiness in her home. How perfectly fitting! So happy for this beautiful couple! Wishing you many days filled with the happiest memories!
We waited and waited but still they didn't show up and we had no cell coverage. After 40 minutes of waiting, I could see that Ethan was getting really nervous. He was a little fidgity and kept looking around everywhere. The easy going smile he always has, had been replaced by a look of concern. At one point he crouched down and put his head in his hands. I asked if he wanted me to say a prayer with him. I heard an audible sigh from his mouth as he shook his head yes….
This girl is near and dear to my heart. She's more of a sister then a niece. She lived with my mom and dad off and on from the time I was 15 to when I moved out at 18. She was my little shadow and I loved to play with her. She even came to school on the bus with me a couple times when my parents were out of town. She was a darling baby and always so happy. It's bittersweet to me that she is getting married this week. On one hand I am so happy for her happiness and that she's found the best guy for her. And on the other hand it's another realization at how quickly life is slipping through my fingers. The years keep going and I can't slow them down any.
The love between these two is what story books are made of. They write to each other so romantically and enjoy the heck out of one another. It's the love you always want to see. Long standing. Long lasting. And perfect!
She wasn’t sure she was into him when they first met and she put him in the friend box, he was so patient and almost gave up when her friends finally made her realize how perfect the two of them were together. And after being on this shoot with them...I'm convinced.
When a Niece or Nephew get married you start feeling old. Where have the years gone? I'm not ready to be the aunt! When we were younger my siblings and I would look at the Aunts and Uncles and say "Someday we are going to be them" and sure enough here we are.
They met on their LDS mission and she contacted him seven months after they were home. They already had a friendship established, so it was easy for them to fall in love with one another. And they are both so sweet and tender with each other.
It was a rainy wedding day, but that did not stop this cute couple from keeping smiles on their faces. They weren't going to let a little rain get them down. They had a sweet intimate wedding at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, it was a perfect setting for their love story. Amy and I went to Photo school together at USU, she was always a fun person to be around, and I enjoyed our journey through photography together. She is amazingly talented, and sees things in such a beautiful way. I was excited that she asked me to photograph such an important day for her.
There is nothing quite as beautiful as a light snow on a wedding day. I know for most it means cold, and wet hair, but to me it creates magic. There is something so dreamy about little snow flakes coming down as you exit the Temple as Husband and Wife. These two weren't phased by it at all. They smiled, and laughed, and hugged and kissed. The cold didn't seem to reach them much at all. To be cliche...they had their love to keep them warm. :)
Emily was absolutely a perfect bride. Beautiful and sweet as could be. And he couldn't take his eyes off of her. They were both surrounded by such wonderful supportive family, and it was a happy occasion. I am so excited for their journey together.
So every Valentine’s Day growing up I would receive flowers and a treat or stuffed animal from a “secret admirer” delivered to me during class from as young as I can remember. This always made my Valentines super special because I was always so worried I wouldn’t receive anything because I was afraid no one liked me. It made the day so much better for me and I’d spend the rest of the day looking around wondering who my secret admirer was. Was it the cute boy that sat behind me? Or the blonde boy who never looked at me as we passed in the hall? Or the boy everyone considered a dork but I knew he was sweet? It was exciting to try to guess.
Fast forward to my first year of college. (Yes, I received flowers every year even through my Senior Year of high school) and I didn’t get any Valentines. It was a sad year for me. I was talking to my mom about it and about how much it meant to me that someone liked me enough every year to send me a Valentine.
The look on her face was so sheepish I about died. “IT WAS YOU!!!!” All those years you let me believe a boy liked me enough to send me a Valentine?? At first I was a little upset, only pacified by the fact that at least some of the years It was someone other then just my moms valentine I was receiving haha. But then... I got to thinking how much it had always meant to me, and how much trouble my mom must have gone through every year to make sure I had a secret valentine. And then I realized how much she must have really cared about me and making sure I felt loved and cared about growing up, because as adults we all know that our parents are the last ones who’s love means much when we are teens and think we know everything.
So there’s my Valentines story haha. Now I have a Valentine who brings me Black tie mousse cake every year and doesn’t judge me when I shove the whole thing in my face. 😁🤓
I know Valentines is not a happy time for everyone, and some people feel really sad about it. I hope you get a Valentine today, but if you don’t, be like my mom and find someone else to give a secret Valentine to, and make their day. You never know who's life is made better by even a small Valentine letting them know they are thought about. Let them know they matter and they are loved.
No matter how Valentines Day May look for you....
Excuse me while I go stuff my face with chocolate!! And I hope you are doing the same! Happy Valentines Day!
And while we are at it...Book a couples session with me this month for 20% off :)
These two love to laugh. Their whole session was laughing and fun with little sweet moments in the middle of all that laughter. They find so much joy being with one another....
