It didn’t take long after starting this shoot to realize how much fun this couple was. We started out with the two of them, capturing fun loving shots, the Logan Canyon providing a beautiful background. They were very lively with each other and you could tell just how much they loved each other. Their love started online where they first met, and it only blossomed from there. James loves how energetic and kind Amy is, where as Amy loves how playful and sweet James is. During one of the shots James kissed Amy and they both ended up falling into the snow in a fit of laughter, both loving every moment of it. Shortly after starting the shoot we brought out their playful puppy, grabbing photos of them and their pup. We eventually put their dog back into the car and near the end of the shoot we realized their puppy had locked the car doors. Luckily the window was a little bit down so I gave them my soft-box umbrella to try to stick through the window to unlock the car door with and we were eventually able to get in. We spent a good time laughing about this predicament. This was a very fun shoot to do, and I am very happy I was able to capture just how high-spirited this couple is.
I love this girl!!!! She is also a photographer. She’s become a friend and I adore her to the bones! She is gracious and so sincerely kind. She loves her kids with such a fierceness, and she is so down to earth and easy to be around. I love getting to document her in her happy place - right along side her family!
I’ve known this family for quite some time now. Some families you photograph over and over again start feeling like family. Such is the case with this sweet girl. And I fell in love with her mama too. She was always so kind to me, would come to many of photoshoots for her grand babies, and would always give me heartfelt thanks and hugs. I was so sad when I heard she had passed away. Having lost a parent myself, I knew the grief this little family would be going through. It is never easy to lose someone you love so dearly. I know they have missed her so much. Especially these sweet little kiddos!
I know I know! You are seeing a million blog posts from me coming through. I’m playing catch up! I hate for any of my beautiful shoots to not be shared. My business had to be put on hold the last few mths for any of the little extras like blogging, facebook and instagram. I took what time I could and spent it visiting my brother in law and spending family time before he died in November. Then it was grieving time, then Christmas, and here we are. Months behind on posting, but it was needed. Thank goodness I work for myself and it allows me to take the time I need to put family first. But now I’m loving going through all my past shoots and getting them out there for the world to see.
First let me start off by telling you how much I love this pretty mama! She is strong, amazing, kind, gracious, talented, and such an amazing mom! She does all the things with her kids that I wish I could muster up the energy to do. Her kids are so kind, and so talented. I had such a wonderful time on this shoot with them all, and it turned out so beautiful thanks to these sweet kiddos participating in the experience so well!
This family has been my friends for years now. I love Khristen! She has such a big amazing heart! She is always reaching out and always so good at keeping in contact and checking up on me to see how I am. She is a tough mama who has been through so much in her life. She lives for her little family and loves being a mama. Its always so much fun to do photos for her family. They are so good at bringing out the silly and the laughs :)
The older I get the more I realize just how important family is. The more I want the "younger generation" to realize how important family is. And the more I realize that as the "younger generation, I never listened much to what the "older generation" had to say. I thought I knew best. Now what I wouldn't give back to GO back. To be young again, and spend so much more time with my loved ones. With my dad. With my siblings. And eat up every moment and memory I can. It's a blink of the eye and it's gone. Replaced with time. And it only gets busier and busier as the years go by. At the end, family is what matters most.
When you have a lot of little kiddos who don't like to hold still very long, or participate very long, a mini family shoot is the way to go. The session is 35-40 mins long, and we get all the photos we can in the time the kiddos are in the mood to play and be happy. They are cheaper shoots and still give you a lot of photos without the kids melting down from the shoot being too long. No one wants to walk away from a shoot feeling like it was exhausting. It's my goal to just have you have a fun time and enjoy every minute of the shoot. So let's set up your shoot and just have some fun!
The cute little girl in this family is one of my daughters best friends. They are two peas in a pod and it reminds me of my days hanging out everyday with my best friends. I love seeing my children make relationships that mean so much to them. This location was perfect, and I loved every shot I got from this session, it was so much fun hanging out with this family.
It's been full on family reunion time, and I love it! Coming from a big family myself, I enjoy seeing big family groups together. What you don't realize when you are young, is how limited your time with your siblings really is. Eventually you see each other less and less. You go on to have your own families and getting together gets harder, and before you know it, you are only seeing your siblings a couple times a year if you are lucky. It's always hard for me to see families who don't appreciate the time they could spend together and don't show up for it, because having lost a nephew, and a dad, and seeing my brother in law dying from Stage 4 cancer...I know how fleeting this time on this Earth is. Next time you are thinking of not going to that family reunion...think again. That time is so important, and don't wait until it's too late!
Spring is here with Summer close to follow and it's the BEST TIME to book your Family Reunion photo shoot. I just heard from a grand daughter of a family I shot for this past summer. Her sweet grandma booked me, and she and I had talked a lot this past summer setting up the shoot, talking details of what was important to her, printing out some large gorgeous canvases from their shoot, and I just grew to love her so much. She was so sweet and I remember after the photo shoot she pulled me into her arms and kissed both my cheeks. Her grand daughter texted that she just passed away. Not even a year after we did the photos that meant so much to her. How this touched my heart. This life goes so swiftly, and recording these memories for the next generation is so incredibly important! I know they meant so much to her. Don't put it off another year... you never know what the year will bring. Now is the time to be sure you preserve what is most important in this world...your family.
I have had the privilege to photograph this family below for the past couple of years and I love them so much! Every session with them has been so beautiful and such a fun time with an amazing family.
Studio Station is a great little studio for an indoor session when things are not so warm outside! It made for the perfect spot for this darling families photos. And let's just stop for a moment and check out how amazingly beautiful this mama is!! Tia always slays when it comes to making my moms, brides, and commercial clients look smokin! This family was so much fun, their outfits were on point, and they were sooooo good! I loved all the natural smiles and interactions they gave me. That little guy cracked me up and melted my heart all at the same time! Seriously a perfect session! Thanks for trusting me with your memories!
Sherice found me on Instagram. She is an incredible writer and an incredible story teller. I always enjoy reading what she writes on her blog. Check it out here: http://smalltownsquirrel.blogspot.com/ She is honest, open, candid, and funny. She is definitely the kind of person I love to be around. And here is a post she wrote about our shoot together: http://smalltownsquirrel.blogspot.com/2017/07/the-importance-of-family-pictures.html
She asked me to take her families photos because they hadn't had one together in years. She said they had never been photographed professionally! We met up the canyon in Salt Lake at Storm mountain and had a little hike around. They kept me laughing. They are such a hilarious family full of life and fun. The love and care they have for each other showed in every moment they were together. I know there are imperfect moments in every family too, but flaws in family is what makes it FAMILY!
Every time I do photos for a family it feels like they become my family for a moment. And being a part of this family would be so much fun and full of laughs. Thank you for trusting me with such special parts of your life and memories together.
I really love photographing this family each year! They are about the most shy family I ever get in front of my lens, and I just love it. Each year these boys get a little more and a little more comfortable with me, and these adorable parents get more and more use to me making them get all snuggly in front of the camera. It always makes my heart full to see the changes from year to year as I get to make friends and photograph families over and over. And I will take cute shy smiles like these any day! It was freezing cold out and we were all shivering but they were all troopers!
These guys are so adorable! Having three girls myself, I have a special place in my heart for other moms and dads with three little girls, and look at sweet these three are! We had a lot of fun playing together on this shoot and playing games for giggles. I love this sweet mama too! She is always so kind, and I love her cute French accent! Thanks for coming to play with me every year! I love my repeat customers, which is why when I raise prices, I still give my families who have been with me year after year a great deal. I love them, and I appreciate them. YOU are who make this dream possible for me...to be able to record family memories for generations to come.
I had the privelege of meeting this sweet family when Celsey hired me for her sweet little babies birth story. See that here
I had such a great experience getting to know some of the family during the birth, and they were all so sweet, I was excited when Celsey's mom Cheryl asked if I could do their extended family photos. I have a sweet spot for extended families. And this family has joined that sweet spot in my heart.
I love when everyone is able to get together, and I think they are so incredibly important. There is such a short time in life when you really get together with all your siblings and their families and do things together. Eventually everyone has their own little families, and the times you get together with your siblings families become fewer and farther between. Take advantage of getting those photos and those memories anytime you can!
Debi is one of the dance teachers at Cache Valley Civic Ballet, and she's been Audris dance teacher. She is so cute and fun with the little kiddos! I've had the privilege of photographing her cute daughter dancing for the last couple years, and I love seeing the growth, and the talent this girl has.
When she called and asked me about doing photos, she knew she wanted them in front of their barn behind their house, and after seeing it, I can't blame her. I loved getting to meet all Debi's kids, they were so much fun and we had some good laughs. When Dad brought out their "Fat Cat" I could NOT stop laughing, I have NEVER seen a cat this big before. We just HAD to have photos with it of course. Thanks for keeping things so fun you guys!
