Beaver Mountain was the perfect backdrop for this wedding! It was such a pleasure to be a part of. Besides working with two people who were so easy going, quick to be friends with, and so open about connecting, it was a sweet intimate wedding I would not have wanted to miss.
Her friends made their ceremony arch which was the talk of the night. Her dress could not have fit her beautiful frame better. One of her best friends was the officiator and had everyone in tears, especially the groom Kaleb who couldn’t have been more tender and sweet about marrying Bethany. Everything was so beautiful, so laid back, and so them. Every detail. I want to let her tell you herself about her wedding experience and about the love between the two of them. She wrote the kindest thing to me when I asked her favorite part of the planning process it was the nicest words from my couple ever! : “Our favorite part was finding AMAZING photographers, having a blast taking engagement photos, seeing how gorgeous they turned out, and being stoked for the wedding pictures! (Not kissing up at all, honestly! The rest of this wedding planning has been SO stressful. Photography has been the smoothest, most fun thing!)”. I absolutely loved getting to know this couple and I hope we always stay friends!
We met at our local rock climbing gym, spring 2016. Neither of us were planning on climbing that night, but both ended up there anyway. We had never met, despite growing up in the same valley. After introducing ourselves, chatting, and climbing a while, I (Bethany) casually asked him (Kaleb) to dinner. He said yes, opened the car door for me, and paid for the meal. That was the beginning of our beautiful, adventurous, joyful, and loving relationship. 3 years later, on my birthday, while hiking in a remote canyon in Moab, he surprised me with an engagement ring. I, of course, said yes. ♡
Our goal through the planning of this wedding and reception was to provide an atmosphere where everyone in attendance felt comfortable, loved, and happy. All in all, it may shave seemed unstructured to some, but that was the idea. Genuine, organic moments without the distraction of a strict agenda or unnecessary technology. The ceremony itself was "unplugged" so everyone could be truly present as part of our special moment.
The venues we choose are two of our favorite locations where we can be ourselves and detach from the business of everyday life. We wanted those attending to also feel separated from life's worries as we did.
As odd as it seems we didn’t have music for the ceremony. We wanted the moments to flow naturally, without the worry of potential technological difficulties.
Our most valuable piece of advice for making a relationship work: Listen to each other. Recognize your differences, your strengths, your weaknesses, your goals, dreams, aspirations. Notice how together, you create balance between it all.
This sweet boy made her a paper rose, and I love that she was able to communicate with him in sign language about it. She’s so amazing!
