Porter was playing in a high school football game when he tackled another player. Something went wrong and, "that’s all she wrote, I guess" he says. He dislocated his C5 and C6 vertebrae in his neck and it wasn't until a year later that he learned he wouldn't be able to walk again. He just "kind of rolled with the punches."
He met Sage at physical therapy after he was paralyzed from the waist down. He gave his all in rehab working to regain as much function in his arms as possible. It only took one wheelchair rugby practice to get him hooked on the sport and he now plays for the Utah Scorpions.
Sage and him are so adorable together - even with mosquitos swarming around them :) and I loved watching the way they love each other. Sage is so sweet with him and he just cherishes her. It is so cute to see, you guys. Sage is a cheerleader, teammate and encouragement for Porter. And he keeps her laughing - scrunchy eyes and nose laughing - my favorite kind!! He hopes to be able to walk again someday, I know Sage is on board with that and now, I am too! You can read more about his story here.
I just love couple shoots. LOVE THEM. There is so much raw, real emotion and passion. I get to capture that all for these couples to hold on to, frame, and pass on to the next generations. Their kids and their grandkids will always know how much they cared about each other. They'll always have this reminder of true love.
And that is why I love couple sessions. Because I love love. And I love to make passing moments last forever.
And let's talk about those hats you see! In LOVE with them! ROAM is the newest trend, and it's taking the world by storm. I was so excited to photograph for Roam-Wear. The hats are so awesome, and the styles so unique. More about them here
