Spring brings out my love for poetry every year. My dad use to lay under a tree in the yard and he could recite poems of every kind to me. When the sun would come out, that's the last we would see daddy in the house. You could find him in the garden, singing while he mowed the lawn, lying in the wheelbarrow taking a nap, painting the house, or laying under a tree. Yes, spring holds a special place in my heart - full of precious memories of daddy.
Last year this little lamb down the road from us was abandoned by it's mother, and it gave me this idea to do a photoshoot with him, to catch a glimpse of the hopes of spring, life renewal, beauty, quiet moments, new life, and all that spring brings with it.

It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want – oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! -Mark Twain
Spring is when life’s alive in everything. -Christina Rossetti
April hath put a spirit of youth in everything. ~William Shakespeare
The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring. ~Bern Williams
Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come. -Robert H. Schuller
Gentle Spring's around the corner,
Waiting just to show her face
And to bring us flowers and sunshine;
Winter's almost run his race!
Be not, then, my friends, discouraged
That there's cold and ice and sleet;
For Springtime soon will be with us,
And the flowers we will greet:
Daffodils, so bright and yellow,
Hyacinths of varied hues,
As they nod their heads, in gladness,
Telling us they bring good news...
~Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, "Springtime"
